Many people who live here are single and child-free. If you’re at a restaurant, and someone brings in a baby, toddler or kid, you can see the disdain and contempt on the other patrons faces. I know, I used to be a person like that. I still sort of am. The last thing you want is for your meal to be interrupted by the earsplitting squalls of someone’s spawn. So when Izzy gets a little fussy at a restaurant and I can’t quiet her immediately, I’ll take her out for a walk until she calms down. I don’t want her to be the recipient of the hateful and glowering scowls of the child-free crowd. I mean, really. Giving dirty looks to a child? Really? What is wrong with you?
Anyway, with the recent baby boom here in town I think all of that baby-hating is starting to change. My gym offers day care starting at 6 months. I haven’t used it yet, since Isadora is not old enough (and also Mitch isn’t too keen on sending her to day care yet). Other places are starting to become much more kid-friendly. I just found out about a salon that opened recently that offers childcare while you receive services. Mani & Nanny opened recently and they take babies as young as 6 weeks. You can keep an eye on your little kidlet on a flat screen TV in the salon. I can’t wait to try it out. The services are reasonably priced. The best part about this salon is that their equipment is cleaned in a hospital-grade sterilizer. No worries about catching the foot fungus from the previous client. I know. Ew.
She doesn’t sound like she’s interested in sharing, but Kirby doesn’t care.
I filmed Izzy trying to roll over on September 17th. It was pretty cute watching her get almost all the way there and then flop back over on her back.

Well, today was the day she was finally successful. We don’t have video of it yet, but we’ll post some as soon as we capture her doing it.
Isadora is 25.5 inches long and weighs 15 pounds 10 ounces. She’s in the 90th percentile for both!
Poor thing cried so hard when she got her vaccinations today and her face turned beet red. She was cranky and restless most of the day.
Izzy has a few plastic monstrosities and other essential items that are wonderful distractions. If it weren’t for these things, I wouldn’t be able to shower, cook dinner or eat. Everyday she works the circuit. Playmat, activity rocker, swing, exersaucer. Repeat. Unfortunately, she is out growing some of these items. I was beginning to panic at the idea of losing such awesome baby keepers, but I found the next great distractatron. Behold, the indoor swing set.
I am so buying this for her first birthday.
Izzy Fizzy briefly enjoying a bit of tummy time.
I love how cute she is in this bunny towel. This towel is so awesomely absorbent. She gets nearly completely dried off just by wrapping her in it. I need to get a couple more of these.
Fresh from the bath and smells delicious enough to eat. We sneak in a few minutes of tummy time whenever we can.
