And we are not ashamed! We live in San Francisco, we are Apple Computer loyalists, we support Obama, and (drumroll, please…) we drive a Prius!
Well, not just yet; the car won’t be ready until next week. It is fresh off the boat and will have at most 6 miles on the odometer. I wanted to get the car in silver, and Mitch wanted black. We ended up agreeing on the silvery-green color.
It has a ton of features I am so excited about: backup camera, bluetooth for hands-free cell use, aux plug for iPod, and navigation system just to name a few. I haven’t owned a car in nearly 7 years and Mitch hasn’t owned a car in over 10. I’m really looking forward to being able to hit the road whenever we want. We already have our first trip (sort of) planned for next weekend. We’re going to take a ride north and get out of the City for the day.
We’re finally going to go test drive a Prius today.
We’re having a hard time trying to decide whether we should actually buy a car. Should it be new or used? Regular or hybrid? It’s amazing how hard of a time Mitch and I have making a commitment to purchase consumer goods, but when it came time to commit to marriage and now a family, that was a piece of cake.
We went to Jason and Danae’s new house for dinner last night. After we ate, we went to the man cave to play some Wii. Danae pointed out that she had a ton of kids books in the corner and would I like to go through them and pick some out for Peanut.
Would I!?

We have a nice head start on Peanut’s library.

I just ran into a neighbor who has an adorable 4 month old named Odessa. She’s a cutie and gave me the biggest smile and happiest giggle when she saw me. Anyway, as babies are wont to do, they outgrow their clothes quickly, so Kat gave me a bunch of Odessa’s stuff.

8 Pairs of pants
2 Sweatshirts
4 Dresses
3 Receiving blankets
1 Wash cloth
Total score!
Most everything is sized 0-3 months and 3-6 months. There are few pieces that are 9 months to a year. I weeded a few things out. There were a couple of adorable summer dresses for 18 months, but by the time Peanut is that age, it will be wintertime. I also decided to pass on anything that read Princess, Spoiled, Diva and the like. I just can’t put that kind of stuff on my kid. I’ll send it to the Goodwill down the street this weekend.
I’m going to pick up some storage bins at the Container Store tomorrow and label them with sizes. Once I get everything washed up, I can sort them into the bins and use them as the time comes.
